Welsh Government to submit for .wales and .cymru

The Welsh government and UK based registrar Nominet said they will submit applications for two new TLDs: .wales for English speakers and . cymru for for Welsh speakers.

Copenhagen not applying for city TLD

Looks like Copenhagen will not be applying for a TLD for their city – the government is not proving the needed support.

ICANN recently said they will open a second application window for the new gTLD program “as expeditiously as possible”.  See the board resolution.

ICANN is offering financial assistance for new TLD applicants who need help with the cost of applying.
